About Us

Welcome to Cherishers Compassionate Care in Rugeley

At Cherishers, we are dedicated to supporting elderly and vulnerable individuals to live safely, independently, and happily in their own homes. Based in Rugeley, Staffordshire, we are a non-profit organisation committed to social inclusion, dignity, and wellbeing. Each week, our team of 40 qualified and caring staff delivers over 900 hours of personalised care to more than 500 local families, ensuring that everyone receives the support they need to thrive.

Our services are designed to meet a wide range of needs. We offer domiciliary help for everyday household tasks, live-in care for continuous support, discharge to access assistance to help clients transition safely from hospital to home, and befriending to provide companionship and emotional support. Every member of our team is trained to the highest standards, and we are proud to be a Real Living Wage employer, offering meaningful employment to those returning to the workforce.

Not for profit help - everything goes back into helping those in need

"Care is at the heart of everything we do."

At our Rugeley offices, we go beyond traditional care services. We provide walk-in facilities where clients can enjoy meals, safe spaces, warm spaces, and training opportunities. Our centre is a hub for social interaction, learning, and wellbeing, helping to combat loneliness and promote community engagement. We believe that social inclusion is a vital part of care, and our facilities are designed to bring people together in a welcoming and supportive environment.

As a non-profit organisation, our focus is always on people first, not profit. Every decision we make prioritises the health, comfort, and independence of the individuals we serve. Whether you are seeking support for yourself, a loved one, or are interested in joining our team, Cherishers is here to provide compassionate, high-quality care with a personal touch. Discover how we can support you to live well and stay connected in your own home.

From the initial assessment through to ongoing support, the standard of care has been exceptional. The carers are punctual, well-presented and clearly well-trained. They support my dad with patience and encouragement, promoting his independence while ensuring his safety at all times. We feel confident that he is receiving high-quality, person-centred care.

What truly stands out is the kindness shown by every member of the team. They don’t just complete tasks; they build meaningful relationships. My wife is always treated with warmth, dignity and reassurance, particularly on more challenging days. Their consistency and calm approach have made a significant difference to her wellbeing.

The carers go above and beyond their duties. They are attentive to detail, proactive in raising any concerns, and always act in my mother’s best interests. It is clear they genuinely care about the people they support. As a family, we feel listened to and involved, which has made the whole experience far less overwhelming.

Entrusting someone with your loved one’s care is never easy, but the team have exceeded our expectations. They are reliable, respectful of our home, and sensitive to our family dynamics. Their support has allowed me to return to being a husband rather than a full-time carer, which has been invaluable to both of us.
